Team Losi Racing at the “Baden-Württemberg” Cup

Race report from Germany:

6th Round Baden-Württemberg Cup

The penultimate round of the popular “Baden-Württemberg” Cup in South Germany was held in Laupheim. The host club presented a challenging track with a lot of obstacles and jumps. So track time was crucial for the 70 entries in the buggy class and 50 entries in the truggy class. Saturday started off nicely with a dusty track and practice in heat order. However right before the start of qualifying the rains came which meant the rest of the day had to be canceled. Welcome to racing in Germany …  As the forecast promised sun for Sunday there was still a chance for a great weekend of racing. Sunday morning and the first of two qualifiers went to Hannes Käufler in the buggy class, followed by Jan Dalgaard Hansen from Denmark. Ralf Dennenmoser likewise continued his domination in the truggy category.

Max Stölzle was sitting second in both classes with two great drives! The finals went underway late and Hannes Käufler took a convincing victory with a 30 second gap over teammate Pascal Sass who found a great rythm and earned a stellar second place finish.

The truggy battle was between Ralf and Max, which developed late in the race due to a horrible start by Ralf. Ralf put on the pressure however it was Max who held his nerves and finished on the top spot!

All in all it was a satisfying Sunday for a disappointing Saturday!

On June 23rd & 24th round 3rd of the Malaysia National League (MNL) was held at the RCC Glenmarie Track in Shah Alam, Malaysia.  Track operator at RCC did a great job by providing a very challenging and technical new layout for the racers on race day.  There were over one hundred racers from all over Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.  Team Losi Racing driver Daniel Law (Winner of MNL round 2) and his Team Losi Racing 8ight 2.0 buggy did it again by dominating and winning the one hour grand final with a lead of 2 laps.

Drake takes all three at JBRL Rd 3

Saturday, June 2nd was the 3rd round of the JBRL Nitro Series at Hemet Competition Raceway in Hemet, California.  It’s been a while since the JBRL Series visited the track formally known as “The Dirt”.  The layout was very technical and got bumpy late in the day.  All three mains went really smooth for Team Losi Racing / Nova Rossi / Pro-Line driver Adam Drake.  Adam was able to settle into a comfortable pace and win all three mains, Buggy, Truggy and Electric Buggy.

Race: JBRL Series, Round 3
Track: Rainman’s Hobby Shop & Raceway
Dates: May 5th, 2012
Format: 2 IFMAR Rounds, Single 6 minute A-Mains

Team Losi Racing and Losi’s Frank Root was on hand at the 3rd round of the 2012 JBRL (Jimmy Babcock Racing League) Saturday at Rainman’s Hobby Shop & Raceway in Bakersfield, CA.  The track had fantastic traction and a very fast layout.  The entry count was very strong at 235, especially strong for the Bakersfield Round of the series which is traditionally the smallest.

2wd Modified Buggy – There were 2x 12 car heats of modified buggy and the qualifying action was intense.  After narrowly missing the TQ in round 1, Frank would charge back hard in the round 2 with a fast, clean run to take a strong TQ by 5 seconds.  When the tone went off, Root jumped out to a quick start to gap the field.  About 2 minutes in, Frank had a slight interaction with traffic,  and surrendered the lead.  Frank quickly got back on the wheel, and retook the lead with a clean pass over the backside double the very next lap.  After regaining the lead with his Team Losi Racing 22, Frank pull out to a comfortable lead and make it by for his the extra lap to cruise home for the win.  Frank’s TLR 22 was hooked up all day, and proved it by taking the dominant TQ and Win!

Pro2 (Modified SC) – Frank’s Losi XXX-SCT equipped with the  Team Losi Racing Tuning Kit was untouchable all day.  Frank would take the TQ in both rounds of qualifying, earning the overall TQ by 13 seconds!  Frank started on form at the sound of the tone and quickly pulled out from the field,  leaving everyone else to battle for 2nd place.  The day belonged to Frank and his XXX-SCT with a statement TQ and Win!

Frank won using the following equipment:
