Top 3 Swedisn Nationals Warmup
1. Robert Gustafsson JQ/OS/Beta
2. Björn Engman Durango/OS
3. Tommy Boström Kyosho/Orion

The last weekend of June Robertsfors MS hosted the 3rd round of Northern Race Series, which also served as a “warmup race” for the Swedish National Championship, a matter of weeks away.
Saturday morning there was heavy rain and strong winds, and the club decided to move the start to later in the day, but in the end it was cancelled since the track wasnt drivable, maybe more suitable for boats.
Howewer Sunday morning rain was gone and the sun was breaking through, the temperature was around 17 degrees. Since qualifying day was cancelled the host club decided to run 1 practice, 3 qualifiers and mains, and this was a bit stressful for everyone, but in the end worked out fine.

The first qualifyer was won by Magnus Björndal who showed consistancy and speed, Robert “Gus” Gustafsson suffered from a crash on last lap and fuel tank zip tie stuck and opend fuel lid.

Second qualifier was won once again by Magnus Björndal, putting in a bit faster time than in first. Gus suffered from a broken recieverpack and got a dnf.

In the third qualifier both Magnus and Gus drove great, and Gus managed to TQ the round on the fastest time of the day.

By this qualifying it ment JQ was on pole in both semis, and both Magnus and Gus got the wins in both of them, and Gus was on a faster time and would go into main on pole.

Since the timeschedule was shrunk down a lot, there was only 20 mins to prepare the cars for the 45 min mains, things got a bit stressful. After the 45 minute main Gus took a well deserved win, and Magnus got into engine trouble in last 5 minutes making him drop down of the podium. A Great result of Gus putting his yellow edition JQ  THECar/OS/Beta tires on top.

All in all a good weekend, and a good warmup and info collecting for the JQ Team going into the nationals.

Thanks to Robertsfors MS who made this race possible despite the bad weather on Saturday.

Great job guys!

After missing the first Finnish National due to being in Czech for the Astra Race, JQ attended the 2nd leg of the Finnish Nats, held at the Kauhava track, the same place that hosted THECar’s very first race, in 2010. The success from back then was repeated as JQ was able to win the race, thus keeping his title hopes alive in the 4 race national championship.

On May 27, RC Arena Cup was held at Banwol Park Raceway. Approximately 60 people joined this event. Due to extremely dry weather, the track was extremely dusty, bumps started to form, and all the jumps became extremely tricky after first round of qualifying. The tire choice and the suspension were critical in this race.

The JQ Korea Team

In this tough condition, once again, JQ came alive. Recently joined driver name Sung Young (Tyler) Hwang TQ’ed in 2 rounds of qualifying by 10 seconds. After 45 minutes of competitive racing, Sun-Young Tyler Hwang came in 2nd.

On May 26th/27th 2012 the first round of the German Nat’s qualifiers for Southern Germany was held in Sand a. Main, the track which hosted last year’s Euros. MSC Sand, the local club, prepared it to be in perfect condition when the drivers setup shop trackside and the weather gods have been gracious enough to let the sun out – a lot.
Jörg “Haui” Hauenstein was able to keep up with the quick guys during qualifiers on Saturday and was ranked 6th after two rounds of qualifying in the evening. On Sunday, Haui tested a bit with the shocks and came to terms, that his initial setup was the best so far and switched back, to what he used on Saturday, for the main. After 40 minutes of racing Haui finished with a great 6th position being the second fastest German in the race, right behind Hannes Käufler who came in 2nd in last years Nats. So really well done, Haui.

Hauenstein to JQ Products Germany

JQ Products In Germany

Jörg “Haui” Hauenstein is the newest addition to the JQ Products Team. Coming from a kart-racing background, where was able to win over famous drivers like F1 star Michael Schumacher, he now races 1/8th buggy class and continues his success. In 2011 he won the Nitromasters series in Germany and plans on defending his title in 2012 running JQ Products’ THECar. Here is a statement by our German Distributors RC City:
“Haui” has been a big fan of JQ from day one and is very impressed with his success in releasing a car all of his own. When he saw how quickly JQ Products fixed all reported problems with the first batch, he was eager to get on board and be part of the best team in the world. After getting in contact with us he soon signed a two year contract and is now racing THECar in Germany and Europe. We would like to welcome “Haui” and wish him and us most success and fun in racing for and with us.
