For 2013, JConcepts has reinvented the tire mounting rubber band. A uniquely molded design, specifically developed for tire mounting, the rubber band is produced in a high-elasticity material capable of stretching to a full assortment of different sized tires.
One of most popular wings for 1/10th off-road buggies remains the 6.5” Hi-Clearance wing by JConcepts. Introduced during the 2011 IFMAR World Championships in Vaasa, Finland, the Hi-Clearance has shown incredible performance on all sort of circuits while fitting nicely on a vast number of 1/10th buggies. For 2013, JConcepts has brought a 7” wide version to the development table and introduced it to competition during the Reedy Race of Champions.
In the 1/8th off-road world a securely fastened wing is critical during brutal track conditions and lengthy main events. With the release of the Finnisher 1/8th wing, JConcepts additionally offers an all aluminum wing button specifically for the screw-in type wing mounts. The machined aluminum design with durable outer rim and stylish hex design offers a bit more security over traditional plastic wing buttons. The design incorporates through-holes and notched hexes which make it incredibly light-weight but strong in all the important areas. The attachment area has an already built-in countersunk feature which allows for the cleanest assembly possible.

January 19, 2013 at Village Raceway in Royal Palm Beach Florida, JConcepts debuted a new one of a kind racing event featuring the new Scalpel conversion for the Traxxas Slash 4×4 and Rally 4×4 vehicles.
Tacoma R/C Raceway in Tacoma, Washington hosted round 3 of the 2nd annual Pacific Northwest Showdown. Track owner Scott Brown and staff prepped the track and building during the week to set the stage on an excellent event.

The first 2 years combined attracted over 2000 entries. 2013 is scheduled as a 5 race series across the United States, drivers now have the opportunity to showcase their abilities on a national and regional level. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall nationals make up the seasonal events at fixed locations while the finals will serve as the end of the year bash for the awards and series championship. The series will be awarded based on points participation in 3 out of the 5 events.

Starting on too firm an insert, the driver feels “on edge” during the first run or subsequent runs on a set of inserts. Starting on too soft an insert, the driver’s vehicle is not responsive enough or runs the risk of too much insert breakdown during the tail end of a tires life which creates a squirmy or inconsistent feel.
One of the best upgrades you can make to the Team Associated line of vehicles is a conversion to 12mm hex wheels. JConcepts has been on top of this conversion since its introduction with hex adaptors and Mono wheels. A critical point of the conversion revolves around the front axle and surrounding geometry.
