2013 European Championships

Jerome Sartel just missed out on achieving a podium finish at the Euro A Championships in Reims, France last weekend, after a terrific performance that showed the superior traction of BETA tyres.

Jerome and the rest of the BETA team were very well prepared ahead of the event after a strong performance at the warm up event earlier in the year, and everybody felt confident a great result was possible. This technical and challenging track, with it’s unique chalk surface provided the tyre manufactures a real headache to come up with the right solutions throughout the week. the biggest challenge was to maintain the traction through each day as the track changed so much with the passing of cars and the temperature.

In the main final Jerome recovered from a very bad start to storm through the field to 4th by the finish, and maybe had the race been a little longer the podium was possible. At many times Jerome was the fastest car on track during the 45 minutes and was catching the leaders, unfortunately as he battled for places he lost ground until he broke clear again.

Their were further great performances from Dani Vega and Renaud Monin for making the semi finals using BETA tyres, after also performing very strongly in qualifying.

We would like to thank all our drivers for their great effort and supporting BETA products at the event.

Track : Low Grip Chalk
