Deerdale Summer Series Round 2

Filed in Live Updates Leave a comment

RC4ME Team were at Deerdale today testing out our new innovative idea which went down a treat few changes needed, but overall worked quite well, as for the racing side of things Racespecs qualified in 10th out of 15 in the A final and Demsparky qualified in 12th position of 15 in the A final. Sadly for Racespecs it all went down hill from there with the throttle servo failing resulting in a DNS. Demsparky went on to finish in 9th position which we don’t think is too bad for our first race. Top 3 A final buggy winners were Leigh Richardson (1st) Neil Woodhead (2nd) Brandon Tills (3rd). Top 3 Truggy A final winners were Tony Drabble (1st) Stan Gill (2nd) Wince Ping (3rd). Fastest laps in the A finals were 40.80 Truggy & 42.17 Buggy.

2012 EDGEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL

Filed in Brand | News | Pro Line Leave a comment

Last Friday I attended the Edgewood Middle School year end race in West Covina, This was my 5th year attending this event and it’s always a great time. As this year comes to an end 15 students are still involved in the club which requires them to maintain a minimum GPA to participate. Manny Co and David Meedley run an amazing program with the students and maintain 10 trucks for the club to use. Pro-Line has always supported the club with bodies, tires, etc to keep the trucks running. This year the students recieved some new swag for the summer as well.  Here are some pictures from the event and a big thanks as well to Hobbypartz.com and HPI for stepping up this year to help out.

HPI 4WD RTR Desert Trophy Ivan Stewart Edition

HPI Ivan Stewart Edition

The HPI Mini-Trophy is one of the most unique RC vehicles ever made – designed in conjunction with the full-size desert racing team from TSA Motorsports, the Mini-Trophy is almost a carbon copy of TSA’s full-size racing truck that competes in the 7200 class of desert racing trucks. Desert racing is one of the toughest racing series on the planet, with hundreds of racing teams taking to the sands, riverbeds and rocky terrain of the American and Mexican deserts. The 7200 class requires only that each vehicle use bodywork that identifies it clearly as a truck, and each truck must use a 6-cylinder engine – allowing for a huge array of designs and capabilities!

We’re proud to release the Mini-Trophy with an officially authorized, vintage style Ivan ‘Ironman’ Stewart Toyota pick-up truck body! Of all the drivers that have tried to tame the desert, Ivan ‘Ironman’ Stewart is one of the most legendary drivers in American motorsport. From his first win in 1973, the Ironman went on to a hugely successful partnership with Toyota trucks and conquered the off-road racing scene, garnering 17 Baja 500 wins, eight Mint 400 wins, four Parker 400s, three Baja 1000s and four SCORE World Championships. Ivan is an inductee into the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame, alongside such legendary figures as Mickey Thompson, Walker Evans, Parnelli Jones and Dick Cepek.

Exotek SC10 4X4 LOCKED FRONT CLUTCH

Filed in Brand | Exotek | News Leave a comment

SC10 4X4 LOCKED FRONT CLUTCH

Must have tuning option for your SC10 4X4! 6 months of track testing has shown enhanced acceleration and braking thanks to locking the left slipper pad only. With this installed you will experience the ability to power out of corners sooner and allow you to brake later and still remain stable. The slipper engages for the rear wheels only and is still fully adjustable. The remaining right side slipper will run much cooler and more consistently though because it is no longer driving the front wheels. Excellent for high power motors.

Easy installation and removal- directly bolts on to the SC10 4X4!

Machined alloy construction.

Note- If you have drilled the layshaft in the past to do the ‘pin mod’ seen on RCTECH forums then it is recommended that you install a new stock shaft.

Rhein Main Circuit – Warmup race

Rhein Main Circuit – Warmup race

The Warmup Race in Bischofsheim was the season opener for the outdoor races in Germany, and also the biggest race in the year there; The track is just awesome and the weather was brilliant again, like in the last couple of years!

In Truggy, this was my first time ever with the DNX408T on the track and it felt good from the beginning. It took a little while to get used to the big car – as this is my only race in the year where I race truggy. I qualified 2nd, but from the semi final I found my pace and would win the semi quite easy.
The main final I had under control for most of the time, although it was a really hard battle in the end. I took the win in front of Carsten Keller and Tim Bremicker.

Rhein Main Circuit – Warmup race

Electric 1/8th Buggy saw a dominance of the Team Durango DEX408; Jörn and I went on to win every qualifier and every single main – so we finished 1st and 2nd;

Rhein Main Circuit – Warmup race

Nitro Buggy was the class where I struggled a little bit from the beginning – the car was good, I just never found my rhythm. Jörn was very fast already in qualifying and ended up 2nd behind Daniel Reckward; I only qualified 12th after some terrible runs; Jörn won easily his semi, which put him 1st on the grid for the main final. My semi was also better than qualifying and I ran 2nd for a long time and finished 3rd, which put me 6th on the grid. In the final jörn was much quicker then everybody else, although he had to refuel more often then everybody else. Jörn had quite a big lead but an electrical failure forced him to retire. My final was terrible – after the 3rd electric main and truggy main everything in a row – I was not able to run my car properly and only finished 9th.  Without the electrical problems in nitro buggy for Jörn, Team Durango would have won all 3 classes…. Next time!

Double victory for LRP in Portugal!

Filed in Brand | LRP | News Leave a comment

LRP / Yokomo drivers Bruno Coelho and João Martinho secured an impressing 1-2 finish at the EFRA Grand Prix in Torres Novas, Portugal!

What a race weekend for LRP at the Mini Autódromo in Torres Novas, host of next year’s Touring Car European Championship! LRP powered drivers were on top in all categories: TQ, new track record for the fastest heat and new track record for the fastest lap by Bernardo Cosme, victory by Bruno Coelho and second place by João Martinho.

The first two qualifying rounds started on Saturday. In the second round, Bruno Coelho set a new record with his LRP powered Yokomo. But it was João Miguel Martinho (LRP / Yokomo) who managed to take the overnight TQ position.
On Sunday, Bernardo Cosme (LRP / Yokomo) TQed the remaining 3 rounds with impressive driving, setting a new heat record and a new fastest lap. Bernardo Cosme secured the overall TQ while his teammate João Miguel Martinho dropped to 4th place.

Double victory for LRP in Portugal!

Double victory for LRP in Portugal!

On Sunday afternoon, the 3 finals took place. In the 1st A-main, Bernardo Cosme was unable to withstand the extreme pressure from Bruno Coelho who finished first in A1. João Martinho came in second. He’d overtaken Bernardo Cosme in the penultimate lap and finished ahead of his LRP / Yokomo teammate by less than 1/10th of a second.
In the 2nd A-main, unfortunately TQ Bernardo was forced to retire from the race. Therefore, the fight for the overall victory was between Bruno Coelho and João Martinho, with both drivers putting an incredible fast and error free pace. At the end of A2, it was Bruno Coelho who won by a second, securing also the overall victory. With this result, the second place was yet to be decided between Bernardo Cosme and João Martinho.
Hugo Miguel took the first place in the 3rd A-main. By finishing second, João Martinho secured the overall second place. Bernardo Cosme finished 3rd. Bruno Coelho, having secured the victory in the previous round, had to settle with the 4th place. With the victory in the final main, Hugo Miguel succeeded to reach the podium relegating TQ driver Bernardo Cosme to 4th overall.

The Portuguese LRP team relied on the “Blue is Better” package for high-level competition racing: the redefinition of a high-end component – the LRP Vector X20 Brushless Modified motor combined with the World Championship winning LRP SXX TC spec version 2 speedo. This combo was supplied with the high power of the LRP LiPo Competition Car Line hardcase batteries. Again, the LRP package proved to be unbeatable.

Congratulations to the Portuguese LRP team!

Double victory for LRP in Portugal!
